約翰福音一章29-37節

神的小僕人
 
經文：
29 次日，約翰看見耶穌來到他那裡，就說：看哪，神的羔羊，除去〔或作背負〕世人罪孽的。
30 這就是我曾說：有一位在我以後來，反成了在我以前的，因他本來在我以前。
31 我先前不認識他，如今我來用水施洗，為要叫他顯明給以色列人。
32 約翰又作見證說：我曾看見聖靈彷彿鴿子，從天降下，住在他的身上。
33 我先前不認識他，只是那差我來用水施洗的，對我說：你看見聖靈降下來，住在誰的身上，誰就是用聖靈施洗的。
34 我看見了，就證明這是神的兒子。
35 再次日，約翰同兩個門徒站在那裡。
36 他見耶穌行走，就說：看哪，這是神的羔羊。
37 兩個門徒聽見他的話，就跟從了耶穌。

經文記述施洗約翰對自己的使命及對主耶穌身份的確認。施洗約翰很清楚自己的工作，是用水給人施洗，叫人悔改，但主耶穌卻是生命的主，是被殺的羔羊，是世人的盼望。施洗約翰可以這樣清楚自己的使命和位份，並謙卑服事，讓人看見真正的主，這才是真正上帝忠心的僕人。

今天許多人都想當主角，卻忘記了真正的主角是誰，在教會服事的我們，有時也會忘了我們真正服事的是耶穌，祂是為我們犧牲的主，是我們單單敬拜的神。施洗約翰見證主耶穌後，他的兩個門徒便跟隨耶穌去了，但施洗約翰樂見其成，這是真正的見證與服事。

禱告：
天父，讓我們的生命是見證主，不是為自己，因為生命的主角是耶穌。求祢給我們這樣的生命，且也有樂於成全別人的生命，謝謝主聽我們的禱告，奉耶穌的名，阿們。

John 1:29-36

The passage narrates how John the Baptist confirmed his roles and witnessed Jesus. He knew his mission was to baptise people with water, calling them to repentance and preparing them for the gospel. Only Jesus is the Lord, the sacrifice Lamb and the hope of the world. John the Baptist knew his position and was willingly pointing people to Jesus.

Many of us perhaps are still serving and ministering hoping to become the centre of ministry. We may have mistakenly forgot who should be our focus. It is Jesus whom we should witness and refer people to. John did so and his two disciples followed Jesus. What an example of true humility and servanthood.

Don’t pursue to be the centre, but be true witnesses of Christ who is our only hope of life.
