約翰福音13章36-38節

神的小僕人

經文：

36 西門‧彼得問耶穌說：「主往哪裏去？」耶穌回答說：「我所去的地方，你現在不能跟我去，後來卻要跟我去。」

37 彼得說：「主啊，我為甚麼現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命！」

38 耶穌說：「你願意為我捨命嗎？我實實在在地告訴你，雞叫以先，你要三次不認我。」

彼得自以為自己可以為主犧牲，無論生死都可以跟從耶穌，他在主耶穌釘十字架之前，曾誇口可以誓死跟從，其實再過幾個小時，他就三次不認主了。彼得並不大認識自己，但主耶穌最了解他，故預先告訴他他會三次不認主這件事。

耶穌了解彼得，也了解我們，彼得和我們都是軟弱的。作為基督的門徒，我們真的要時刻警醒，今天的剛強和明天的軟弱都是真實的我們，所以我們不要自己誇口，明天如何我們並不知道，明天可能跌倒，也可能成功。彼得雖然三次不認主，但主仍然對他說來跟從我。（約翰福音21:18-19），且他的確靠著主從失敗中站起來了，而且愈發堅定勇敢。

禱告：

親愛的主耶穌，求主憐憫我們的軟弱，叫我們不要自誇，也避免犯彼得不認主的錯，在失望沮喪中更不要氣餒，能夠堅定勇敢地走天路。奉耶穌的名禱告，阿們。

John 13:36-38

Peter thought that he could follow Jesus to death, for he did not know how weak he could be. When Peter boasted to follow Jesus to death, he then disowned the Lord three times after a few hours. Jesus knew Peter well and He knows each of us.

As followers of Christ we need to confess we are weak and fragile. We need to be sober and we can never boast our success and achievement. We can stand firm today but can fall back tomorrow. Yet Jesus still call upon us to follow Him as He called Peter, who did disown the Lord three times. (John 21:18-19)

Lord forgive us for we are weak and encourage us when we are in despair.
