創世記9章8-17節
神的小僕人
 
經文：
8 神曉諭挪亞和他的兒子說：
9 我與你們和你們的後裔立約。
10 並與你們這裡的一切活物，就是飛鳥，牲畜，走獸，凡從方舟裡出來的活物立約。
11 我與你們立約，凡有血肉的，不再被洪水滅絕，也不再有洪水毀壞地了。
12 神說：我與你們，並你們這裡的各樣活物所立的永約，是有記號的。
13 我把虹放在雲彩中，這就可作我與地立約的記號了。
14 我使雲彩蓋地的時候，必有虹現在雲彩中。
15 我便記念我與你們，和各樣有血肉的活物所立的約，水就再不氾濫毀壞一切有血肉的物了。
16 虹必現在雲彩中，我看見，就要記念我與地上各樣有血肉的活物所立的永約。
17 神對挪亞說：這就是我與地上一切有血肉之物立約的記號了。

神曾以洪水滅了天地，又重新再造整個世界，之後祂和挪亞立約，以彩虹為記號，應許永遠不再以大水來毁滅世界，彩虹就變成了恩典的記號。這個約不單是和人類立的，也是和整個受造的世界，包括動物和一切生物立的。
 
或許我們會問，這世界不是在墮落和毁滅之中嗎？神不是說將來世界也要來到終結嗎？ 上帝已用洪水重新再造一切，盼望挪亞和他的後代都會是敬虔和跟從主的。可惜的是人類世世代代都在犯罪，上帝的審判必定要來到，但彩虹之約卻永遠立定。彩虹之約是恩典和拯救之約，像挪亞一家和所有的動物都在方舟中，得着拯救，今天的我們，得着基督裏的拯救，就是方舟所預表的拯救，是彩虹之約。 
 
禱告：
親愛的天父，彩虹之約是神給我們永遠的恩典的記號，叫我們們知道在基督裏，我們是有盼望的。 感謝耶穌基督為我們所成就的救恩。奉耶穌的名禱告，阿們。
 
Genesis 9:8-17 
 
God destroyed the world through the flood and He then made a covenant with Noah. He established the covenant through the sign of rainbow, the grace He has not only with human but all living creatures. God promises to save and will not destroy again. 
 
We may then ask, isn’t the world ending and doesn't the Bible fortell the end time of total destruction? Yes in God’s procreation, He desires generations of God fearing and obedient people through the family of Noah. Unfortunately it did not happen as such. Mankind ongoing sins, for which God’s judgment will come. Yet the covenant of the rainbow stands forever. The Ark is the salvation and it foretells the everlasting Ark of Jesus Christ our Lord, who saves us through His redemption. 
 
The sign of rainbow is the everlasting covenant of God with all living creatures and it will stand. It is our everlasting hope.
