 提摩太前書四章6-9節 (1 Timothy 4:6-9 )提摩太前書四章6-9節
神的小僕人
經文:
6 你若將這些事提醒弟兄們，便是基督耶穌的好執事，在真道的話語，和你向來所服從的善道上，得了教育。
7 只是要棄絕那世俗的言語，和老婦荒渺的話，在敬虔上操練自己。
8 操練身體，益處還少，惟獨敬虔，凡事都有益處，因有今生和來生的應許。
9 這話是可信的，是十分可佩服的。
作為基督的僕人，我們要棄絕世俗的價值觀，選擇操練敬虔。所謂敬虔，就是敬畏神，學習體貼神的心意。比起追尋世俗的好處和利益，學習和操練敬虔所得的益處多得多。
只是面對世界，我們常不知不覺就跟隨了世俗所追求的價值觀，甚至是無稽之談、荒渺的話。作為神的兒女，保羅鼓勵我們，要追求真道，服從善道，操練敬虔。
不要單看地上的好處，乃要專注屬天的祝福和上帝的喜悅。
1 Timothy 4:6-9
As the ministers of God, children of God need to let go of worldly gains, and pursue spiritual godliness. Godliness needs to be practised. It is living the way God desires, becoming more Christlike, and what they store up are treasures that will never moth or fade away.
Yet many of us are still pursuing worldly gains, godless myths and our way of living is ungodly. Paul reminded us to have spiritual sight storing up blessings in heaven instead of pursuing worldly fortune and prosperity.
Godliness is denying the worldly gains and focusing on God and what He desires.
