Psalm 17:1-5

The psalmist wrote about his determination to live righteously in front of God.  He disciplined himself through controlling his mouth and his words, knowing they are always against God and wrong people.

The writer of the psalm has a pure heart in front of God. He pleaded for God’s righteous judgement and vindication as he felt compelled not to transgress through his words and lips.  We are all faulty in our words, for our mind and thoughts are filled with filth.  We can only deal with our deceitful tongue when we present ourselves in the presence of the Lord.
