馬太福音五章13-16節
神的小僕人
經文:
13 你們是世上的鹽，鹽若失了味，怎能叫他再鹹呢？以後無用，不過丟在外面，被人踐踏了。
14 你們是世上的光。城造在山上是不能隱藏的。
15 人點燈，不放在斗底下，是放在燈臺上，就照亮一家的人。
16 你們的光也當這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，便將榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。
有人會說: 我們有好的行為不要讓人知道，以免我們榮耀的是自己。這種說法有其道理。但主耶穌在登山寶訓中教導我們要作鹽作光，且說我們的光要給人看見，意味着我們的好行為、好見證要讓人知道。那麼這兩種說法的分別在那裏呢？分別就是我們的好行為、好見證到底是見證上帝還是炫耀自己？
要分辨這兩者，唯有我們在神面前省察自己的動機和目標，就可以知道。基督徒的生命見證和好行為，都是由心發出的，是真實的、清心的、是為了榮耀神，祝福別人，而不是為了榮耀自己。
Matthew 5:13-16
Many believers will agree, God appreciates us doing all the good without letting others know. Yet Jesus in the sermon on the mount taught us to be the salt and light. Being the light we are to shine in front of people. What’s the difference then? The difference is whether the good witness brings glory to God or to us.
Believers need to search through our intention in the presence of God so that we know our intention is pure and godly. Good witness brings glory to God and blesses others without selfish intention to gain fame.
