馬太福音六章1-4節
神的小僕人
經文:
1 你們要小心，不可將善事行在人的面前，故意叫他們看見，若是這樣，就不能得你們天父的賞賜了。
2 所以，你施捨的時候，不可在你前面吹號，像那假冒為善的人在會堂裡和街道上所行的，故意要得人的榮耀。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。
3 你施捨的時候，不要叫左手知道右手所作的。
4 要叫你施捨的事行在暗中，你父在暗中察看，必然報答你。〔有古卷作必在明處報答你〕
主耶穌提醒我們，當我們作善事的時候，不要故意作在人的面前，為得人的賞賜，因為這樣做我們已經得著賞賜了。我們作善事的出發點，不是為了贏取別人的讚賞，而是為了順服神，活出神在我們裡面的生命。
服事主也是這樣。服事的時候，最大的誘惑是追求別人的讚賞，當然別人的認可肯定也常是需要的。分別在那裏呢？就是我們服事的出發點，不是為了得到别人的認可肯定，乃是服事我們在天上的主，照祂的心意而行，討祂的喜悅，這樣才是真正在主裡的服事。
Matthew 6:1-4
Jesus taught us not to do the good deeds in front of people in order to gain the praises of others. Very often we did not recognize the intention of our giving. We give to the needy in order to let people know how good we are. This is not pleasing to God.
The same applies to serving. We do it to please God. Recognition from people is important but our intention is vital. We need to focus on pleasing the Father in heaven rather than man on earth.
